Masterplan Gunung Timau National Observatorium Project, Kupang

National Observatory in Mount Timau will be developed to become a symbol of advance technology in space research and the monitoring of celestial objects in Indonesia that can be compared to the national observatory of developed countries in the world. Cross-scientific analysis from Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Geological Engineering, Geotechnics, Geodetic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology and Astronomy have examined that national observatory can be built at Mount Timau Region. However, the development process needs to go through the strict physical and technological requirements mainly due to the constraints of clay shale as the main structure of the soil layer of Mount Timau. The technical recommendation and guidelines of buildings and structure has been made for the future development of national observatory in this area.
